For Moms and Daughters Only: a Hollow Project Retreat
Being a mom to a teen girl these days is not for the faint of heart. How do we instill a sense of self-acceptance and respect in our daughters when problems like eating disorders and self-injury run rampant throughout their generation of young women who have seemingly been bred to be hateful, judgmental, and disparaging toward their bodies and themselves? And what's worse, in many cases, they've learned it from us.
Women are known for punishing their bodies with cruel diets, unbalanced exercise routines, overwork, and lack of proper rest. And how do you talk to yourself when you look at yourself before a ful-length mirror in a fitting room? Ouch. Our daughters have been listening, and it's time we re-write those scripts.
For Moms and Daughters Only is a special Hollow Project retreat designed to draw moms and daughters closer together and closer to God through two days of fun and inspirational sessions candidly devoted to the subjects of body image, disordered eating, and self-care. God created our bodies with incredible care to detail, and He cares about how we treat them and how we feel toward them. Ephesians says you are God's masterpiece; come grow closer to your daughter as you both discover the truth behind that beautiful identity!
