A note from Heather:
In November 2008, a stranger named Jena Morrow friended me on Facebook. About two months later, I sat down at my local Starbucks to meet this "Facebook friend" for the first time. We talked for three hours at that first meeting and discovered a mutual love for Bananagrams, books, writing, music, and God.
I found out Jena had been working on a memoir about her intense struggle with anorexia. After I read a rough draft, I knew this book needed to be shared with other women (and men) who needed a voice to express their own pain.
In May of 2010, Jena's memoir, Hollow: an Unpolished Tale, was published through Moody Publishers. As a result, Jena has had opportunities to share her story on radio and at special events across the country. The response has been enormous, because the need is great.
I wanted to be a part of this journey with Jena, since I have struggled with self-esteem issues ever since I was a young girl. I often share this with audiences at our shows, and I'm always amazed at the people who approach me afterward to share their own stories of eating disorders, struggles with despair, and loss of hope.
Daniel's Window and Jena have written five songs for our new CD "Hollow" reflecting this journey from despair to hope in God, based on Jena's book Hollow. Now we want to take this message of hope on the road and bring it to you. The Hollow Project touring event will combine inspiring music from Daniel's Window and intimate conversations with Jena and is perfect for church events, women's events, college campuses, and youth events.
I hope you'll considering bringing the Hollow Project to your area. Please call 815-529-1088 or e-mail us at booking@danielswindow.com if you would like more information on the event.
Blessings,
Heather
